TIME MANAGEMENT – FOR STUDENTS
As we give importance to wealth, we need to give due importance to time also. Time scores above wealth. Lost money can be earned again but not lost time. MEDITATION GURU ARCHNA DIDI advice to students is to make best use of every moment available with them. DIDI insists, If you focus on following aspects, you can increase your capability manifold by proper time-management:-
1. Make a ‘To do list’: Make a list of all tasks priority-wise which you wish to complete in the entire day either in the morning or in the evening or before going to bed. Most essential parts should come first in order and least important at the end. You may make use of the planner.
2. Time Table: Allocate time proportionately subject-wise, like morning slots to difficult subjects requiring more attention. Draw a time-table accordingly.
3. Realistic Goals: Allot realistic and achievable goals. Setting goals too high may ultimately result in failure and disappointment. So goals should be realistic.
4. Dead Line: Allot a dead-line for completing task. Always keep in mind this dead line before the start of a task. This way your tasks will be easily completed in lesser time.
5. Flexibility: Try to follow your set time-table. But there could be occasions when sudden additional work may have to be completed. Keep margin of adjustment.
6. Apprising your Friends: It is a good strategy to keep your friends, brothers and sisters informed about your time-schedule.
7. Fixed Time: Adhere to fix place for study and fixed time allotted for starting your activity. Your sub-conscious mind will slowly get adjusted to the time and place of your study.
8. Do not Loose Time in Unnecessary Worry: If for any reason you could not complete any earmarked task, do not waste time worrying about it. Complete it at this moment only. Avoid postponing the work to future date.
9. Making Use of Extra Time: Get into the habit of making use of extra-time available with you like waiting for your teacher or while standing in a queue or waiting for arrival of friend or going to his place or travelling by bus or car.
10. Improve Habits: Identify those activities which are wasteful. For example, you have over spent your time with your friends or wasted too much time by talking on phone; make it a rule not to talk to anybody when you are studying.
11. Self-Control: Unnecessary talks, too much net-surfing, too much playing and excessive sleeping are the activities that need to be watched and controlled. Put a check on yourself and leave that activity.
